Wendy “LeLe” Akins, 39 of Elysian Fields, TX passed away on October 1, 2021 in Shreveport. She was born June 16, 1982 in Carthage to Joe Akins and Francis Oney Akins. Wendy, or “LeLe” as she was known by, grew up in Elysian Fields and graduated from Elysian Fields High School. She was a hard worker, friendly to a fault, outgoing and trusting person. Wendy was known to be opinionated, and also very smart.
“LeLe” is survived by her sons, Drake Anthony Dodson, Devin Ira Dodson and Mark Allen Dodson, Jr; sister, Amanda Sue Akins of Waskom; dad, Joe Akins of Henderson; grandmother, Sally Oney of Harleton; mother-in-law, Linda Fleetwood of DeBerry; nephews, Asa and Jaxtin McMillan, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Francis Akins and brother, Joseph Akins.
A service to celebrate Wendy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Travis St. Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home, Marshall, TX with Bro Joe Bob Alexander officiating. A time of visitation with her family will follow the services.
