W.A. Hudgins

Mr. W.A. Hudgins went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Gilbert, LA to Lena and W.C. Hudgins.
Mr. Hudgins proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theater on a B-24 Liberator as a nose gunner, flying 42 missions. After the war he married Rodgel “Jimmie” Vowell in Shreveport, LA. He retired as a manager for an oil and gas fishing tool company. Mr. Hudgins loved restoring and collecting antique cars. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed.
Mr. Hudgins is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Rodgel Hudgins; two daughters, Linda Hoelker and husband Ewald of Sarasota, FL and Amber Adams and husband Carl of Conroe, TX; seven grandchildren, Deeann Hoelker, Jeffery Hoelker, Lisa Stephens and husband Jacob, Joshua Hoelker, Amanda Adams, Ashley Dupuis and husband Dr. Travis Dupuis, and Allison Richards and husband Dr. John Richards; and nine great grandchildren, Ryan Trick, Ewald, Emery, Everette and Ella Stephens, Cooper and MollyKate Dupuis, and Canon and Lila Ann Richards; two nephews he considered his “sons”, Larry Glover and wife Barbara and Ronnie Glover; and nephew and nieces, Robert Lyles, Theresa Thrash, and Sandy Todaro and husband Joe.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Central Baptist Church of Marshall at or to the charity of the donors choice.
