Ruth Moore

May 16, 1924 ~ May 14, 2018 (age 93)

Funeral services for B. Ruth Aycock Moore, age 93, will be conducted at 10:00 AM in the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Art Ostrander and Phillip Patton of Marshall Church of Christ will conduct the service. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.

Mrs. Moore was born May 16, 1924 in Cameron, TX to James and Nancy “Liz” Aycock. She passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Moore graduated from Waco High School in 1942. She married Malcolm Earl Moore in March of 1945 and the family made their home in Marshall for the past 57 years. Mrs. Moore was a longtime member of the Marshall Church of Christ where she was in the Ladies Bible Class. She was also a member of the Marshall TOPS group and T&P Family Ties. Two of her favorite hobbies included traveling and quilting. She was in ‘Hearts to Hands’ quilting club in Marshall. Above everything else, Mrs. Moore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all that knew her. She loved The Lord and served Him faithfully for the past 81 years.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Malcolm Earl Moore; son, Michael Earl Moore; her parents, and nine siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Kirkland and husband Jack, Carolyn Graham and husband Ron; four grandchildren, Jason Kirkland, Emily Kirkland, Mandy Dycus and husband Garrett, and Amy Thomas; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Kirkland, Travis and Taylor Digman, Hannah and Ian Dycus, and Rylee and Zach Thomas; brother, Martin Aycock; close nephew, Larry Aycock; and close friends who she considered daughters, Sylvia Jackson and Phyllis Melchert.

The family wishes to thank Marshall Homecare & Hospice, and the many friends and loved ones who showered Mrs. Moore with great love and compassion during her brief illness.
