Services will be conducted for Robert Keith Clark, 84 of Longview, TX on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Craig Vanbiber. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be conducted at the Gill Cemetery.
Keith Clark entered into rest on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Longview, TX after a lengthy illness. He was a 1957 graduate of Baylor University with a degree in geology and played offensive tackle on the Baylor football team for four years. He served his county as a member of the U.S. Army.
After college he worked in the oil and gas business for ten years working in Texas, Louisiana, Nigeria, and Libya. Mr. Clark then changed his career to coaching and teaching. He coached football in Rosenberg, TX, and Marshall, TX. While in Marshall from 1972-1991 he coached, taught science, and became an assistant principal. Mr. Clark retired as the Jefferson Middle School principal in 1994.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Longview, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, the Baylor Letterman Association, and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Clark; infant son, Kevin Clark; brother, Ross Clark; parents-in–law, Lola and Arthur Mullinax. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue Clark; daughter, Robyn Moore and husband Dan; son, Greg Clark and wife Jeanie; four grandchildren, Brian Clark and wife Lindsey, John Clark and wife Taylor, Logan Moore, Alison Thomas and husband Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Lola, and Leslie Clark, and Jaxon Thomas; one brother, Kenneth Clark and wife Darlene; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church of Longview youth groups, and or the charity of the donors choice.
