Richard Earl Liles

September 1, 1944 ~ February 22, 2019 (age 74)


Funeral services for Richard Earl “Buzz” Liles, 74 will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Beckville, TX.
Mr. Liles was born in Tatum, TX on September 1, 1944 to Roy and Minnie Belle Liles. He passed away at home on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Tatum.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Tatum. He worked for LTV and Marathon LeTourneau. He retired after 30 years of service with Texas Utilities at the Martin Creek Power Plant. Richard farmed for 60 years and watermelons were his specialty. He loved to hunt and fish and was a certified scuba diver. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Liles was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jake White; two brothers, Ernie and Jesse Liles; and great nephew, Landon Good. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Holly Huffman Liles; three children, Curt Liles and wife Mindy, Cari White and husband Steve, and Gabrielle Liles; six grandchildren, Kristen, Josh, Rebecca, and Alyssa White; Cade and Tatum Liles; brother, Tommy Liles; sister, Mendy Johnson and husband Eddie; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
