Richard Carwile Fyffe (a/k/a Bit), age 95 passed away on December 25, 2018. He was born February 7th, 1923 in Marshall, Texas to Jimmie Jackson and Nanny Kate Sypert Fyffe. Funeral services will be conducted at The Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas on January 7th, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 6th at the funeral home.
Graveside services will immediately follow at Grange Hall Cemetery in Marshall. Richard served honorably in the Army for 20 years and retired in 1963. He married Dorothy Mae Sharp on February 20, 1949. He raised a family in Shreveport and later moved to Karnack, Texas where he enjoyed fishing/trot lining, playing games with family and friends, especially dominoes, and gardening.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eva Rasberry, Nancy Kersey, Mary Ethel Fears, Nora Lea and Bettie Slaughter Reynolds; brothers, Reuben Fyffe, Jadie Fyffe, Romy Fyffe, and grandson, Michael Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Sharp Fyffe; children, Randy Fyffe and wife Marta, Kenneth Fyffe, Trina Fyffe and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Kevin Fyffe, Vanessa Fyffe, Angelique Fyffe, Richard Fyffe, Aaron Fyffe and wife Johanna, Nathan Fyffe, Mark Wallace and Christopher Cline; great grandchildren, Cayden Fyffe and Diana Fyffe and sister in law, Vera Fyffe.
