September 21, 1933 ~ March 2, 2022 (age 88)


Funeral Services will be held for Mrs. Norma Payne, age 88, of Marshall, TX on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Marshall, TX. Bro. Gary Post will be officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, TX. A time of visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Norma Fay Payne was born September 21, 1933 in Marshall, TX to Mr. Lonnie Graham Eaves, Sr. and Mrs. Agnes Lancaster Eaves. She passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2022 at her home in Marshall, TX. Surrounded by her two sons and her grandson Blake.

Norma Payne grew up in Marshall, she attended and graduated from Marshall High School. After school, she went to work for East Texas Baptist College where she met her first love, Mr. Morgan Payne, the two were married December 12, 1953 and shared 30 wonderful years together until his passing in 1983. Norma went on to work for and retire from Harrison County Tax Office. Mrs. Payne loved her church and was very active at Central Baptist Church in Marshall. She loved seeing that her children and grandchildren were raised in church to love the Lord. In her spare time she enjoyed reading her Bible and Danielle Steel. Above all else, Mrs. Norma loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Norma Payne was preceded in death by her loving husband Morgan Payne, her daughters Sandra Payne and Lisa Payne; her granddaughter Crystal Hilton; her grandson, David Britt; Louis Fritz; and her brother, Rev. Calvin Eaves; her nephew Daniel Eaves; and her sister in law Pauline Eaves. Left to cherish her memories are her children, sons, Ronald Payne, and Jonathan Payne and wife Aimee; daughter, Debra Burden and husband David; her grandchildren, Christopher Fyffe and wife Misty, Lindsey Basaldua and husband Miguel of Longview, TX, Megan Payne, Taylor Payne, McKenzie Payne, Bradley Payne and wife Christin, Jasper Barrios, Blake Barrios, River Barrios and wife Lauren, and Dr. Chase Herrera and wife Donielle of Shreveport, LA; her great grandchildren, Brendan Basaldua, Tristan Basaldua, Hudson Barrios, Noah Barrios, Rainn Barrios, Kylar Payne, Leighton Payne, Averee Payne, Paisley Payne, Emberly Payne, Sutton Herrera, Zachary Lester, Zeke Lester, Zane Lester, Zander Lester, and Amelia Lester; her brother Lonnie Eaves, Jr. and his wife Jane; nephews David Eaves, Tommy Eaves, Edward Eaves and Steve Eaves; and her niece Diane Eaves, and numerous other relatives and beloved friends.

Serving as Pallbearers are David Eaves, Christopher Fyffe, Bradley Payne, Blake Barrios, River Barrios, Dr. Chase Herrera, and Chris Porterfield.

The Payne family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Toby Jones and Pepper for their exceptional love and care of Mrs. Payne.
