Mildred Louise Billingsley age 96 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Longview, TX. She was born in Woodlawn, TX to Jessie and James Russell on April 26, 1922.
Mrs. Billingsley graduated from Marshall High School in 1941. She earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree and then went on to obtain her Masters in Aging Studies from North Texas Collage in Denton, TX. Mildred worked as a Program Director at the Recreation Center in Denton and in the Senior Center. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Stars, the VFW and DAV Auxiliary Groups and a member of a Harleton, TX singing group.
Mrs. Billingsley was preceded in death by two husbands, Milton F. Murphy to whom she was married to for 24 years until his death 1969, and then Wade H. Billingsley whom she spent 21 years with until he died in 1991; her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Roscoe David Russell. She is survived by her two sons, David F. Murphy and Charles Wayne Murphy; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ernest “Bo” Russell and wife Mildred, and Jessie W. Russell and wife Lois; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM at the Little Chapel by the Lake in Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, TX on Sunday, August 19, 2018.
