Tribute

Michael Ray Douglas, age 72, of Waskom passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday February 10, 2022. He was born on February 15, 1949 in Columbia, Louisiana to Aubrey Ray and Wanda Sue Ingram Douglas.

Mike graduated from Waskom High school in 1967. He would spend his career in the steel fabrication industry; however, his favorite job was to be a father and “poppy”, a fixer of all things. Poppy was caring, devoted, loyal, generous, and always put his family first. He was a true embodiment of unconditional love and unfailing kindness.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman, and loved spending his free time hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He loved cooking for friends and family, always adding his special touch.
His pride and greatest joys were his girls, Christy and Reagan, and Sawyer, his best friend and grand dog. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Keith Douglas; parents, Aubrey Ray and Wanda Sue Douglas; brother, Phillip Scott Douglas and sister-in-law Lisa Lynn Douglas; and Uncle Mayo Sydney Douglas.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Christy Beckwith of Shreveport, LA; granddaughter Reagan Beckwith of Shreveport, LA; brother, Steven Edward Douglas and wife, Judy; sisters, Teresa Gail Glodo and Carolyn Ann Fyffe and husband, Jodie. His is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in his memory on Tuesday, February 15th, from 4-6pm at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX.
