Mrs Jimmie VanDyke Nicholson

Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Jimmie Van Dyke, age 87, on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack, TX under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Marshall, TX. Rev. Harold Coburn will be officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX

Jimmie was born October 4, 1932 in Polk, TX and passed from this life on May 29, 2020 in The Woodlands, TX.

Jimmie Van Dyke grew up in the country where her family gardened and had pets that she loved. Jimmie dearly loved her family Johnnie Mae, Lubie, Clovis, Attice and Barbara Sue. Her Great Grandmother Rebecca and Grandparents John and Evie. She enjoyed fishing with her grandfather John Warren. Jimmie married Jack Van Dyke, and the couple had three children that they raised together. Jimmie was a loving mother and wife, a talented seamstress, decorator and chef. Mrs. Van Dyke was a Special Education teacher at LaPorte and Pasadena School Districts where she was loved by many students. She retired to a ranch where she made a magic kingdom for her grandchildren. She was a real-life Mary Poppins to the many people that knew and loved her.

Jimmie Van Dyke was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Van Dyke; her granddaughters Kathrene Van Dyke and Kierstyn Van Dyke; and daughter in law, Terry Van Dyke. She is survived by her sister Barbara Sue; Her children, George Van Dyke and wife Jeannine, James Van Dyke, Veleen Van Dyke Simms and husband Charles; grandchildren, Shawnda Langston, Jason Van Dyke, Kristine Van Dyke, Trey Van Dyke, Brandy Kelly, Monique Mixon, Ian Simms, many great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and beloved friends. Mrs. Jimmie Van Dyke is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Serving as Pallbearers will be George Van Dyke, James Van Dyke, Charles Simms, Ian Simms, Chris Mixon, and Trey Van Dyke.
