Services for Jennie Swafford, 97 of Longview, TX formerly of Marshall will be conducted at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Shelley Kral. Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Mrs. Swafford entered into rest on Monday, October 22, 2018 in Longview, TX. She was born to Joseph Leto and Mary Arbisi Leto on April 8, 1921 in Tampa, Florida. She married Glen Swafford in 1948 and they moved to East Texas where she has been a resident for almost 70 years. Mrs. Swafford was a retired vault administrator for Marshall National Bank with 30 years of service. She was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and a charter member of the American Business Womens Association. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Glen Swafford; son in law, Richard Alphin; and one brother Joseph Leto. She is survived by one son, Glen O. Swafford; two daughters, Mary E. Swafford Alphin, and Eva M. Swafford Palkin; four grandchildren, Heather Booth and husband Rusty, Michael Alphin, Mark Palkin, Christina Palkin; two great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Lorelai Booth; one sister, Tessie Ferlita; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
