Memorial Services are pending for Mr. James C. Luby, age 72, of Harleton, TX.
James Luby was born October 13, 1948 in Jackson, MS to Mr. Chester Alonzo Luby and Mrs. Dorothy Lee Tyler Luby. He passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 9, 2021 in Longview, TX.
Mr. James Luby proudly served his country in Vietnam with the Marine Corp. after the Marines, he would go on to join the U.S. Army, and eventually retired with the National Guard. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Diana, TX. Mr. James became a pastor in 1980 and pastored two churches from 1986-1996, Lafayette Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, TX and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Daingerfield, TX. Mr. Luby loved to sing in church and around the house, some of his favorites include, The Old Rugged Cross, He Walks With Me, Precious Memories, and anything by Jim Reeves. He had a love for history especially war history, his many animals he has owned over the years, and of course his library of books that he had at home. Of all the books he owned, he read his bible the most.
Mr. Luby was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Luby, and his parents. He is survived by his loving children, daughters, Diane Ilgenfritz and husband Ted, and Christy Luby and fiancée Brandon Santana; his one son, Daniel Luby and wife Kathy; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends. James Luby is dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
