Funeral Services for Mr. J.B. Massey, age 94, of Jefferson, TX will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Travis Street Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. Interment will follow at Yates Cemetery in Scottsville, TX. Rev. Monica Massey will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX.
Mr. J.B. Junior Massey was born June 8, 1928 in Stamps, AR to Mr. Justin Massey and Mrs. Beulah McNatt Massey. He passed from this life on January 15, 2023 in Longview, TX, surrounded by his loving family.
J.B. married the love of his life, Mrs. Emma E. Massey, in 1952. The two of them welcomed six children into the world and spent 74 wonderful years of life together. J.B. loved to tell the story of how he hitchhiked on military transportation all the way to Germany just to marry Emma. Mr. Massey loved to cook for his family, if you ever spent the night at the Massey house, his breakfast was a special treat. J.B. was a ham radio operator and enjoyed communicating with friends across the country over the years. More than anything, J.B. loved his family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Gone before him are his sons, Jackie Lee Massey and Michael James Massey, his parents; and brothers, R.E. Massey, B.B. Massey, and William Wayne Massey. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Mrs. Emma Massey; his children Troy Massey and wife Betty, Charles Massey, Sue Lamonte, and Hazel Molandes Massey, granddaughters Hannah Molandes, Monica Massey, and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and dear friends. J.B. Massey loved well and is tremendously loved.
