Services will be conducted at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church, Hallsville, TX for H.S. Mauldin, Jr. Affectionately known as “Pop” on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm. Officiating will be Dr. Danny Warbington and Rev. Neal Thornberg. Graveside services will follow at Algoma South Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Mr. Mauldin was born to Minnie and Horace S. Mauldin, Sr. in Marshall on August 5, 1928; he passed away suddenly in Longview on June 5, 2018. He was a graduate of Marshall High School class of 1945 and attended Texas A&M where he was a cadet. He was a retired door to door salesman and still active as an owner and operator of a lawn care service company. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir at various churches in Shreveport and Hallsville. Mr. Mauldin was a faithful member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church since 1964.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Ava Jean Griffin Mauldin; one daughter, Bonnie Simmons; and one grandson, Russell Oney. He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Pasche and husband Scott; two sons, David Mauldin, and Phillip Mauldin and wife Donna; grandchildren, Jamie, Luke, Shelley, Griff, Emily, Monique, Cody, Heather, Holly, Derek, Sheila, Chad, and Kelly; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; son in law, Tommy Simmons; brothers in law, Casper Smith and Harold Griffin; several nieces and nephews, and his Mulberry Springs Baptist Church family.
