Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Dean Kelley, age 87, of Karnack, TX on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at The Travis Street Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX with interment to follow at Kelley Cemetery, located at 6014 State Line Road in Karnack, TX. Pastor Doug Lovett of Faith Independent Baptist Church, Waskom, TX will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX.
Mr. Herman Dean Kelley was born March 8, 1935 in Bernice, LA to Mr. Sircie Brooks Kelley and Mrs. Lillie McKnight Kelley. He passed from this life April 17, 2022 in Marshall, TX.
Dean was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and go camping. In his spare time he enjoyed sailing, riding his motorcycles, and tinkering with a little bit of everything. Mr. Kelley served his country for four years in the United States Navy and would go on to work as an air craft mechanic and pilot. More than anything Dean loved his family. He always dedicated his time to his children, grandchildren, and especially spoiling his great grandchildren. Dean Kelley is dearly loved by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Leonard “Speedy” Kelley, Otis Brooks “O.B.” Kelley, and Bobby Gene Kelley. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Todd Kelley and wife Lisa, Barry Kelley and Tracy, Kayla Caldwell and husband Kenny, and Heather Kelley; his grandchildren, Danni Kelley, Scott Caldwell and wife Victoria, Megan Taylor and fiancé Bailey, Casey Patterson and husband Jeffrey, Katie Vaughan and husband Donavan, Spencer Smith, and Sierra Smith; his great grandchildren, Kara Kelley, Jeffrey Rachal, Evelyn Taylor, Brooklyn Caldwell, Oliver Patterson, Wesley Vaughan, and Brayden Caldwell; his sister in law, Janette Kelley; and his former wife and the mother of his children, Virginia Shelton and her husband Carl who is Dean’s best friend, and numerous nieces, nephews, beloved relatives and dear friends.
Serving as Pallbearers are Alan Kelley, Kenny Caldwell, Scott Caldwell, David Akes, Jeffrey Patterson, and David Smith.
