Funeral Services for Mr. George Douglas “Doug” Moore, Age 70, of Marshall, TX will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home.
George Douglas Moore was born September 23, 1950 in Marshall, TX to George Dick Moore and Mary Mullins Moore. He passed away after a brief illness on April 1, 2021 at his home in Marshall, TX.
Doug was a graduate of Marshall High School, Class of 1969. He studied diesel mechanics at Kilgore College. Doug would go on to proudly serve our country for many years in the National Guard. He would go on to work for his family logging business, something that he had done since he was a teenager. Mr. Moore was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was always so excited about opening day of hunting season. He spent much of his time exploring the great outdoors.
Doug Moore was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Smith Moore, who passed in 2018, his parents; and his sister, Brenda Jones of Carthage, TX. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Rhonda Moore of Marshall, TX and Amanda Moore of Marshall, TX; his precious granddaughter, Makayla Moore of Marshall, TX; and his sister, Linda Moore of Marshall, TX. Doug Moore is dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
