Kathlene Moore Jones, 82, of Karnack, TX passed away December 18, 2020, in Tyler, TX after a lengthy illness. She was born April 10, 1938 in Karnack to Vernon Hatley Moore, Sr. and Charlie Evelyn Hayner Moore. She grew up in Karnack and graduated from Karnack High School in 1956, shortly after marrying Joe Jones on October 12, 1956 in Karnack. She worked for the Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant from when she graduated from high school until she retired when the plant closed down, retiring as a Budget and Procedures Supervisor after 35 years of service. Mrs. Jones enjoyed travelling, especially to Monte Carlo where she was able to play the slot machines. She also loved entertaining and having people over to her house, watching the Texas Rangers play ball, catfish dinners and taking care of her yard.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Jones, Sr. of Karnack, sons: Joe Jones, Jr. and his wife Frances of Henderson, and Michael Jones of Karnack; grandchildren: Lauren Jones of White Oak, TX and Kyle Jones of Dallas; sisters: Patricia Jones of Karnack, Shirley Stalcup of Karnack, Cindy Griffin of California; and brother, Gerald Moore of Luling, TX as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home, Marshall, TX. Interment will follow in Andrews Cemetery.
