God has certainly blessed me! This was Mrs. Jackson’s favorite saying. Over a century of a life well lived cannot be recorded in a single paragraph. Mrs. Edna Nadine Jackson was full of life. She took every opportunity she could to live that life to the fullest. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to what would become Walker’s Mill Community in Hallsville, TX. From there, Mrs. Nadine attended Central School, a small two room school in the Noonday Community in Hallsville, where she carried her lunch in a syrup bucket. Later, she would attend Hallsville High School where she represented Hallsville in the Gilmer Yamboree as a Duchess. She married her first husband, Mr. Boney Landers, December 21, 1938. The two would chose to raise their children in Marshall, TX until his passing in 1951. She would go on to remarry Mr. Alvin Jackson in 1972; they spent 20 wonderful years together before his passing in 1992. After the loss of her second husband, Mrs. Nadine spent much of her time with her family. She loved traveling, going on cruises, and going to the boats! Mexico was a favorite destination for Mrs. Jackson; she made several trips to the famous ruins and pyramids at Coba, Mexico. The stories of Mrs. Jackson could fill a book, in fact, they have, her son Tom Landers wrote a wonderful biography of Mrs. Jackson. She was a true “southern lady”. Mrs. Nadine was beautiful, kind, caring, and loving. Her home was always full on Sundays for her wonderful cooking. Above all else, Mrs. Jackson loved her children, grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
