Services will be conducted for Dova Maude Bennett, 97 of Marshall at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at The Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Kent Bird of Bell Street Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at Algoma South Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Mrs. Bennett entered into rest on Monday, December 17, 2018 at her residence, she was born in Irwin, Missouri to Eula Belle Alexander Garrison and Arthur Washington Garrison.
She graduated from Mulberry High School in Mulbery, KS. During W.W. II she worked as a welder building military planes for the war effort. She married Arthur Norman Bennett on November 10, 1946 in Salina, KS. At the time of Arthur’s death they had been married for 49 years. She loved to sew, cook, and watch her grand kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Roy, Lee, Vernon, and Dwight Garrison, and great-granddaughter, Whitney Wallace.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois Carter and husband Don, Joyce Maddox, and Bonnie Holland and husband Bobby; one son, Gary Bennett; grandchildren, Douglas Grinnell, Dawn Wallace, Steven Grinnell, Kimberly Robbins, Tracy Guffey, Gary Wayne Kuykendall, Roy Bennett, Timothy Bennett, Kelly Briggs, Lily Boyd, Becky Anderson, Ronnie Maddox, Sarah Ellis, Kevin Smith, Adam Archer, and one brother Floyd Garrison; numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Roy Bennett, Timothy Bennett, Adam Archer, Skyler Weeks, Kevin Smith, Douglas Grinnell; honorary pallbearers will be Steven and Austin Grinnell.
The family would like to thank Linda Anderson, Hearts Way Hospice employees, and Tasha Grinnell and Kelly Briggs for their loving care.
