Mr. David “Davo” Roland was born December 16, 1950 in Ft. Worth, TX to Frank and Frances Downs Roland. He passed from this life and opened his eyes in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2020.
After graduating from Haltom High School, Davo would go on to attend Cisco Jr. College before starting a career in excavation. David married his best friend, Margaret on September 6, 1996. He worked as an excavation estimator until his retirement. His coworkers would tell you that if he was in the field to look for him to have taken over a dozer, he always loved the heavy equipment and “playing in the dirt” no matter what position he worked. David was known for his sense of humor. If Davo knew you, then chances are he didn’t call you by your name, he had a nickname for you. His nicknames are infamous and will be forever special to all of those who he loved. David was meek, mild tempered, and kind hearted. He was always willing to help anyone in need, whether that meant sneaking eggs in your car at church or jumping on the dozer and coming to your aid, David was there. Mr. Roland was a faithful member of the Church of Uncertain and had given his life to Jesus Christ at a young age. He loved animals and most days you could find him with his dogs Climber and Taffy, two cats, and ten chickens, also who had nicknames! Above all, David Roland loved his wife and family.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years; his children, Mandy Germany and husband Gerald, Cori Luttrell and husband Chadd, Ameerah Roland, and Amanda Connely; his sister, Susan Cobb and husband Skipper; and nephew Shay Thomas and wife Misty, and numerous other relatives, family, and friends.
