Services will be conducted for Clifford P. Smith, 83 of Marshall, TX on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 4:00 pm at The Little Chapel by The Lake at Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Brandon Davis of Marshall Missionary Baptist Church where Clifford was a member. Entombment to follow in the Colonial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Mr. Smith entered into rest on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Flora, La. and a resident of Marshall since 1966. He graduated from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA in 1956 and then served his country as a proud member of the U.S. Army for three years. He retired from American Norit Coal Company as an accountant with thirty years of dedicated service. Clifford was very active in his church served as treasurer and trustee for many years. Clifford loved hunting and he was the former President of the K & D Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Cloria Smith; one son, Randy Smith; sisters, Ruby Cook and Nada Pavlik; one brother, Richard Smith; granddaughter, Daphne; and great-grandson, Patrick.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Earlean Smith; one son, Dean Smith and wife Lea Ann; one daughter, Deborah Turner and husband Doug; grandchildren, Tommy Smith, Brandon Smith and wife Dawn, Katie Smith, Scarlet Vise and husband Jacob, Peyton Facello, Justin Cox, and Candice Hamilton; one brother, J.C. Smith and wife Willie Mae; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Emma, K.K., Garrett, Corbin, Jaxon, Derrick, Hunter, Ronnie, Tucker, and Molly.
Memorials may be made to Hearts Way Hospice and or the Marshall Missionary Baptist Church Insurance Fund.
