Bula Mae Christmas

Mrs. Bula Mae Stone Christmas, 90, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May, 13, 1928 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Chester Stone and Bula Barnhill Stone. Funeral services will be conducted at The Colonial Chapel at Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be D.W. McLendon of Eastern Hills Church of Christ where Mrs. Christmas was a longtime and faithful member. Visitation will be held at The Colonial Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside Services will immediately follow the service at Colonial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Christmas grew up in Longview, TX, graduating from Pine Tree High School, where she was head cheerleader. She worked many years as a bookkeeper until retiring from Snider Lumber Company. Bula had a special bond with her sisters, as they looked forward to their weekly “Sister Day” every Thursday. Mrs. Christmas enjoyed her crossword puzzles, as there were always crossword puzzle books in all of her sitting areas. Most of all, she loved her family and looked forward to feeding them every Sunday after church.
Mrs. Christmas was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Raymond Garland Christmas; two brothers, Clyde Stone, and B.C. Stone; and a sister, Inez Tyler.
She is survived by her children, Raymond C. Christmas and wife Grace, Robert W. Christmas and wife Patti, and Gay Hobbs; grandchildren, Austin Christmas and wife Lynsey, Haley Burkhart and husband Greg, Candice Colvin, and Casey Colvin; great-grandchildren, Conner Christmas, Callie Christmas, Merek, Addison, and Sloane Burkhart, Caden Landreneaux, and wife Claire, Cutter Landreneaux, and Suvi Stoor, two sisters, Mabel Beaty and June White; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Austin Christmas, Greg Burkhart, Caden Landreneaux, Russell Beaty, Ben Walling, and Patrick Parker.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Marshall Home Care and Hospice, and a very special thank you to Mrs. Christmas’ caregivers, Laurie McClendon and Shebrell “Gabbi” Shepherd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arms of Hope, at 21300 State Highway 16 N Medina, TX 78055 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
