Anna Marie Bellamy Taylor, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend died peacefully
on November 8, 2018. Born on August 9, 1923, Ann was the second of five children of parents
Alice Ola Pickens Bellamy and James Claude Bellamy.
Ann was educated in the Marshall public schools, graduating in 1941. She became a Christian
at an early age, and grew up in the Baptist tradition, remaining Baptist all her life.
Ann married Phil P. Taylor on November 15, 1946. They were married for over 60 years and
had one son, Philip Kent Taylor.
At the forefront of women in leadership roles, Ann was employed for 35 years by AT&T, first as
an operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1944, and later as a Service
Representative. She retired in 1982.
Ann was an avid reader, loved keeping up with current events, and enjoyed traveling. Ann spent
many years traveling with family to varied and interesting locations, both domestically and
internationally. Her husband, Phil, was a successful salesman and sales manager for Nehls
Chevrolet, and they travelled extensively with General Motors for salesmanship awards.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, her son, Kent; three sisters, Martha Bishop,
Mertie Baldwin, Jackie Daniels; and one brother, James Bellamy. She is survived by numerous
devoted nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The family wishes to thank Bobby Metcalf for his invaluable help though the years, and
faithful caregivers Reddie Jones and Hearese Moore.
Services will be held at Grange Hall Cemetery at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 13.
Visitation will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home on Monday, November 12, from 5:00 to 7:00
