Graveside services with military honors will be conducted for Lonnie Jackson Moore, Jr., 72 of Hallsville, TX on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, TX. Officiating will be Dr. Monty Pierce of First Baptist Church of Hallsville.
Mr. Moore entered into rest on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Longview, TX after a lengthy illness. He was born in Marshall, TX and lived in Harrison County his entire life. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Thomaston (LSD-28). Mr. Moore was a glazier in the automotive industry retiring from McDaniel’s Quality Body Works after 26 years of service. He loved working on antique clocks of all types and had a large collection. Mr. Moore also enjoyed hunting and fishing and working with his tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Jackson and Eddie Lee Moore; four sisters; two nieces and two nephews. Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Judy Moore; one daughter, Kimberly Smith and husband Brandon; three sons, Lonnie Craig Moore, Christian Moore, and Mason Moore; four grandchildren, Hope Smith and fiancé Randy Meador, Brooke Smith, Lauren Smith, Haley Harris; one great-grandchild, Haven Harris; several other nieces and nephews and his family at McDaniel’s Quality Body Works.
